The noise reduction wall shall employ a dynamic brake, distinct and separate from the brake in order to lower the wall at a controlled speed of no more than approximately 150% of the normal down speed, in the case of a catastrophic failure in the power train. |

Skyfold panels for noise reduction shall are architecturally flat with no bowing, oil canning, warping, waviness or any other surface deformation and discontinuity. |
The noise reduction test made on Skyfold's Autolift Wall System was conculsive. The sample use had attached to the interior face of each panel was 38 mm (1.5 in.) thick semi-rigid glass fiber (identified as Manson AKI boar, density 28.8kg/m2. The noise reduction panels were hinged at two locations each. In the closed position, there was 13mm (0.5 in.) overlap between the panels. The panel joints were sealed with 13mm (0.5 in.) by 6 mm (0.25 in.) expanded crossed-linked polyethylene foam. The panels were sealed to the test frame around the vertical perimeter using 3 mm (0.125 in.) thick rubber bulb seals which measured nominally 19 mm (0.75 in.) in the closed position. The noise reduction panels were sealed tot he test frame around the top and bottom perimeter using 2 mm (0.08 in.) thick rubber bulb seals which measured nominally 38 mm (1.5 in.) at the top and 35 mm (1.375 in.) at the bottom in the closed position. Laboratory personnel performed a full inspection on the noise reduction test specimen. Prior to testing the operable wall was opened and closed at least five times, and th test was conducted with no further adjustments. |
