Brendan James Gray, John Frederick Duggan and Christopher John Watt are charged with the murder of Athol John Tollard at his Rokeby home on Hobart's eastern shore on May 4 last year. Director of Public Prosecutions Tim Ellis, SC, told the Hobart Supreme Court the accused men bashed, shot and robbed Mr Tollard, 79, before setting fire to his house to destroy evidence. Gray, 31, Duggan, 38, and Watt, 27, have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, arson, aggravated burglary and stealing
