The DG-EN is usually installed in bus and truck terminals or maintenance facilities, package distribution warehouses and building loading docks where Diesel fumes pose a threat to indoor air quality. In order to protect the toxic gas monitor from the Respirable Combustible Dust (RCD) present in Diesel fumes, Acme uses an air pump to draw the sample to the detection unit from the space, where it is filtered and passed to a solid-state infrared CO2 analyzer or an electrochemical NO2 analyzer. Both CO2 and NO2 are acceptable surrogates for the determination of overall Diesel pollution in the space, according to research done by the U.S. Bureau of Mines and CANMET. Toxic gas monitor outputs available range from 4-20 mA or 4 contact levels in our single-point unit to zone and multiple fan control in our larger panels.

For CO/CO2 (Diesel Fumes): remote sensor stations must be mounted vertically according to the arrow on the sensor. Heights between 4 ft. (1.20 m) and 6 ft.(1.80 m) are usual. Locations where a parked vehicle may exhaust directly into the toxic gas monitor should be avoided. Where the toxic gas monitor is mounted on a column, the preferred side should be outside the usual lane of traffic.
